L'opera di Dennis Reed dedicata a Belinda Victoria

L'INTERPRETAZIONE DI DENNIS REED
Reed Dennis è nato nel 1946 nella parte meridionale della California e ha vissuto per lunghi periodi in diverse zone del mondo, mantenendo ricordi gradevoli. In pensione da poco tempo, vive in Arizona. Single, ha un figlio e un nipote. Dice di amare la vita e di possedere un animo per certi versi ancora infantile, ed è forse per questo che, in ambito artistico, predilige quel che attiene alle fate e all'ambiente in cui  vivono. Scherzosamente afferma di non avere bisogno di alcun Peter Pan che lo convinca a non crescere, visto che il  suo animo non ha mai smesso di palpitare e di entusiasmarsi come succede a un bambino. Di sicuro, aggiunge, questo modo di pensare e di essere non è rappresentativo del mondo in cui si destreggia l'uomo moderno. Ma lui, tiene a precisarlo, pur non perdendo di vista le proprie responsabilità e l'età che ha raggiunto, si lascia consapevolmente affascinare da tutto quel che vi è di romantico, semplice, bello, garbato.
Allo stesso modo, fa il possibile per essere positivo nelle azioni che compie e il fine cui tende è la pace interiore. Nonostante il suo modo d'interpretare la vita, cogliendone soprattutto i lati positivi, Dennis Reed ammette di non essere per nulla insensibile agli orrori che circondano, non è che li sottovaluti o che non vi presti attenzione. Semplicemente vuole mantenere integra quella visione della vita che mette in risalto anche la positività che essa racchiude.  Aggiunge inoltre di credere fermamente in una forza che esiste al di fuori di noi e in una giustizia ultraterrena, ovvero Dio, che è anche fonte di verità illuminante per chiunque. Una persona, se sorretta dalla fede, può infatti essere intimamente quel che desidera, perseguendo i propri nobili scopi. Dennis Reed ama l'arte in ogni sua sfaccettatura. Suona la chitarra da oltre 45 anni e ha composto circa cento canzoni. Si definisce un menestrello che ama condividere con altri i momenti sereni in cui si diletta a suonare e cantare. Già nell'infanzia provava un forte interesse nei confronti delle arti visive e, dopo essersi classificato al secondo posto in un concorso indetto da un Liceo Architettonico di Stato, ha deciso di intraprendere la carriera di grafico. A trenta anni il suo interesse nei confronti dell'arte si è ulteriormente intensificato e ha quindi studiato tutto quel che concerne la pittura ad olio e le correnti pittoriche.  Durante la sua professione di Programmatore Analista, ha preso parte a mostre e concorsi grafici di immagini computerizzate. Attualmente sta lavorando con il programma Poser ed ha vinto il prestigioso concorso "Faeriewyldes 2003", lo stesso in cui, nel 2004, si è classificato al terzo posto.

Dennis Reed; born in Southern California 1946, but have lived in & been to well over half of the world. I am now retired and live in Arizona, USA. I'm a single male with one child and one grandchild. I love life, and I have always been a child at heart. So it is easy to see why I prefer Faeries and the art thereof! I did not need Peter Pan to convince me to "Never grow up!". Unfortunately, that's not the way of man. So on the exterior, I had to. But, deep within, my child remains. I prefer to be positive, supporting the soft, sweet, and gentle. I paint the world in that light. I'm not blind to the horrors of the world, and I stay sharp to the perils that confront use all. I simply do not allow that to alter how I view the world. I believe in "Our Lord, Jesus Christ", "Love thy fellow Man", "Lead by example", "Everything is Beautiful", and possibly the greatest truth of all, "You can be what ever you desire, as long as you believe and pursue". I have always love the arts in all categories! I have played the guitar for over 45 years and have written over 100 songs. I am a minstrel and enjoy sharing my gift of song. I have dabbled in the visual arts since childhood. I won 2nd place in a High School Architectural State wide contest, and wanted to pursue that field, but somehow got sidetracked. During my middle thirties, I renewed my interests in the Arts and studied most of the Master Artists of oil painting, but struggled with its application. It was during my profession as Programmer Analyst, that I was exposed computer graphics, and found the Media perfect for me. I am working currently with Poser, and won Faeriewyldes annual 2003 Best Image award, and 3rd place in their 2004 contest.

Ringrazio vivamente Mr. Reed per l'immagine che ha dedicato a Belinda Victoria e per la passione e l'entusiasmo che non hanno mai smesso di sorreggerlo durante le fasi del suo lavoro, talvolta ostacolato dalla mia non perfetta conoscenza della lingua inglese. Aggiungo che, al di là della sua bravura artistica, Mr. Reed è un bravissimo musicista ed ha una voce che incanta un po' tutti. Dorothy, una mia carissima e splendida amica dice che, quando canta Dennis Reed, persino i suoi quattro gatti si calmano per mettersi ad ascoltarlo come ipnotizzati. A questo punto penso che, anche nella voce di Reed, nei suoi arrangiamenti musicali e  non solo in quello che crea graficamente, ci sia della magia. E le fate, per quanto inverosimile possa sembrare, si mescolano in mezzo a noi muovendo passettini di danza nonostante l'età che abbiamo raggiunto.

I add that, beyond his graphic-arts cleverness, Mr. Reed is an expert musician too and has a voice that enchants almost all the people. Dorothy, my wonderful friend and expert collaborator, says that when Dennis Reed is singing, even her four cats become quiet and listen to his songs as they were hypnotized. At this point I think that even in Dennis Reed’s voice, in his musical arrangements, there is something magic. And the fairies, however unlikely it may seem, mingle among us moving little dance steps despite the age that we have reached.
